It's nice to see some light shining on these utterly anachronistic bodies, I hope that the new government comes up with a new approach which balances interests more appropriately than these old boys clubs do. I've always meant to ask Philip Amies what a good approach might be.

Back in June, Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers bred successfully rearing 2 young in the Orlestone forest area. Sad to hear that just 9 LSW were able to be monitored by the LesserSpot network. Sorry my news is late, at least it gets the survey up to ten pairs. LesserSpot Network


This insect was in the moth trap last night, I think it is Metopius fuscipennis, could anyone confirm and advise UK status, thanks Steven Falk
