After the community mobilization at Dartmouth Cove yesterday I’m pleased that Build NS has given Atlantic Road Construction & Paving until Friday at noon to remove the illegal barriers at or they will remove them at the owner's expense.

I am glad to see that the barriers along the Dartmouth Harbourwalk Trail have been removed thanks to quick action from the community, HRM, and Build NS. The fight is not over, and we will continue to press the Province to protect this area and all coastlines.

I was glad to join the Rail Conference union members, along with other unions and my Nova Scotia NDP colleagues, as they protested unilaterally imposed binding arbitration in response to a corporate lockout. We stand with workers and their right to free and fair bargaining always.

I'm glad to hear the news that a tentative agreement has been reached between the health care unions and the government. I'm glad there was movement yesterday, and recognition of the vital role of these healthcare workers.

On #overdoseawarenessday we remember and mourn those Nova Scotians, friends, family and loved ones, who have died from overdose and drug poisoning. We also acknowledge the pain and grief of those left behind. #nofamilyisimmune
