An early start today to speak to drivers about safety on #NewForest roads this summer. With foals, calves, & stallions all roaming freely it's a key time to #ExpectTheUnexpected & always #PassWideAndSlow when animals are on or near roads @NewForestCops NFRoadsAwareness New Forest NPA

Day 13 we went on a lovely 9 mile walk along the coast & spotted this Adder, Vipera berus, slithering away. Also a joy to hear the calls of Sandwich Terns & spot them dropping from the sky in their fishing expeditions #30DaysWild #coast #reptiles #seabirds

Day 14 - a #wildflower kind of day - lovely to see Bog Asphodel, Narthecium ossifragum, Bog Pimpernel, Anagallis tenella, Bell Heather, Erica cinerea & Round-leafed Sundews, Drosera rotundifolia all emerging on the open heathland of the #NewForest 🌸🌼🌺#30DaysWild

Day 15 - taking a moment to admire the lovely bank of Oxeye daisies in the garden. Some poppies & cornflowers starting to come through & other #wildflowers sown earlier this year. This bank attracts so many insects; I’ll be keeping an eye out in the coming weeks! #30DaysWild

19 -Today’s find was super exciting😍weeding the veg patch & spotted this beastie carrying a caterpillar!A red banded sand wasp,Ammophila sabulosa - it put the caterpillar in the nest chamber & proceeded to fill in the hole. Amazing to watch & read up on😲 #30DaysWild #NewForest

Day 20 was also a #shoresearch kind of day, loved starting the day with Moths - ending guarding dinner from Black-headed Gulls & exploring the wonders of the intertidal zone with friends + our mini apprentice 😍 #30DaysWild #coast #itsawildlife #beachcombing 🦀🐚🌊

21 - a late one at work, not much time for any major wild activities (well, I guess year 11s partying could be labelled as wild…) but took some time to admire the sky & sunset whilst listening to Snipe & Nightjars 💜 #30DaysWild #dusk #sunset #NewForest

Day 22 - a lovely circular walk Deerleap - Ashurst, complete with pub stop & plenty of wild encounters including Alder Beetle, Agelastica alni, Slow worm, Anguis fragilis & a good amount of time spent taking pants photos of damselflies 😆🙈🤦🏻‍♀️ #30DaysWild #NewForest #wildlife 💜💚

Day 24 - exploring a new patch! Last minute adventure to Devon gave the opportunity to get out on the water Dartmouth-Brixham-Torquay; beautiful day seal spotting & bird watching 😍 (before the sea mist arrived & everything disappeared…) #30DaysWild #birding #seawatching

27 -Closer to home for another great evening stroll from Barton on Sea - Milford on Sea & back again. Fascinating to see the effects of coastal #erosion & collapsing cliff tops. We were surrounded by glow worms on the return journey😍bioluminescence is so cool! #30DaysWild #coast

28 - terrible photo but I promise there is a lizard in it! Spending some time in the garden 💚 My style of gardening is definitely “wildlife gardening” #30DaysWild #NewForest

29 - A peaceful walk from Beaulieu - Bucklers Hard with a stop at a bird hide on the North Solent National Nature Reserve. Cheeky Squirrels, colourful Siskins & Goldfinches, & tiny amphibians featured 😁 #30DaysWild #birding #walking #NewForest
