This week, our Programme Managers have been busy training teachers across the country. One of our teachers said: “If ever I'm having a bad day, I just go and listen to one of the pupils reading with their volunteer on the laptop and I feel better, it's a beautiful thing!”😍

And we’re ready to launch Chapter One into classrooms for the 2024-25 school year! 🚀 Our first wave of volunteers have today begun their reading sessions with pupils in Doncaster, Cumbria, Middlesbrough, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Bradford, Peterborough and Leeds. Stay tuned! 📺

Literacy charity Chapter One has launched its Online Reading Volunteers Programme in Birmingham primary schools. 👏 Over 190 corporate volunteers will use their bespoke, online platform to deliver the weekly reading to 5-8 year olds in Birmingham for this school year. 📚
