Pre-COVID: agencies charged ~$65/h to supply ICU RNs Since COVID: agencies charge up to $110/h Privatization diverts public $ to private companies who can take advantage of the situation hospitals face. Shore up public healthcare instead of letting privatization undercut it.

Happy Thursday, y’all and remember, studies have shown that reading for pleasure, even for just a few minutes a day, can make a significant contribution to our mental health. #bydhttmwfi

The Ontario government recently gave 43 of their MPPs a $16,000 raise, bringing their salary to $132,500/year. So why are they refusing to provide a decent wage to Ontario’s lowest paid education workers, who make $39,000/year & are just asking for a $3.25/hour raise to survive?

Notwithstanding the heroic efforts of hospitals and HCWs, Ontario's pediatric healthcare system is in an unprecedented crisis. Access to acute/critical care is imperiled, yet crickets from @ongov. It's shocking that our elected leaders simply aren't showing up for our kids.

There is NOTHING ok about this. Protections being removed from critical land. Conservative donors/land developers benefiting from seemingly insider information. Where is the investigation? Where is the OUTRAGE? #HandsOffTheGreenbelt #ONpoli theglobeandmail.com/canada/article…

Afternoon, #OntEd! So we need to start talking impact of #GPT3 on pedagogy, on curriculum, and definitely on assessment. Truthfully? We needed to be talking about this last year but things have been kind of "dumpster firey", so let's not be too harsh on ourselves.

The new tower is a welcome addition. HCWs will care for the patients of East Toronto in an updated facility. However, "hundreds of beds" are not being added. Nearly all existing beds will close and the net number of physical beds will be fewer than we had before.

Councillors vote soon! In this housing & shelter crisis there's nowhere for people to go. Sign Progress Toronto's petition to urge councillors to keep drop-in access warming spaces open 24/7 so there is always somewhere to go and no one is turned away progresstoronto.ca/petition-open-…

It's 4 pm on a Wednesday. The majority of ORs in the province are now closed for next 16 hours. Instead of creating, funding and diverting staff to a parallel private system, @ongov should invest in the underutilized public system we already have.

Why is the Doug Ford gov't thanking farmers for all their contributions while at the same time planning to destroy their farms? Hwy 413 would pave over 2,000 acres of Ontario's most productive farmland! #localfoodweek #handsoffthegreenbelt #enoughisenoughON

This is mind-boggling. Ontarians are being told that one political staffer was able to take over the machinery of government and override civil servants to remove land from the cherished, protected Greenbelt, increasing the value of developers’ - who are key donors to the

Ontario will be without a Science Centre for at least several years... A generation of kids will never get that school field trip to open their imagination to science. Sad day from something that was very preventable.
