Building over 1 million new rental homes by 2030 is no small challenge. I was honoured to address the House of Commons Standing Committee on Human Resources today to discuss how we can address Canada’s housing needs and say yes to more housing. #housing #cdnpoli

The capital gains increase will discourage the construction of new rental homes for Canadians. CFAA urges the Federal Government to include a deferral on this tax, provided the gains are reinvested into rental housing. #cdnpoli

#ICYMI Last week CFAA’s Tony Irwin presented to the House of Commons #HUMA committee on the need for strong leadership in tackling the housing crisis. CFAA is proud to amplify that message and push for the action we need to increase rental supply across the country #cdnpoli

On behalf of CFAA and our members, we thank the Government of Canada for extending the Apartment Construction Loan Program to 2032! Expanding eligibility will address critical rental supply needs so every Canadian has a place to call home. #cdnpoli cmhc-schl.gc.ca/media-newsroom…

CFAA is pleased to see the CPC announce the Canada First Reinvestment Tax Cut. This tax cut will encourage capital to stay in 🇨🇦 & is key to tackling the housing crisis while promoting investment. CFAA looks forward to seeing housing policy at the front & centre of this election.

Solving the housing crisis requires historic effort from government. We're glad the Liberal Party's housing plan reflects the seriousness of this challenge, by committing to partner with all levels of government to halve development charges. Time to get it done! #elxn2025

Rising development charges are a significant barrier to getting new rental housing built. CFAA supports the Conservative Party’s policy to incentivize municipal governments to reduce development charges, so we can work together to get new homes built.
