Life is so busy and complicated. Listening to cricket on the radio, watching tennis on the tv and flicking to the football during the tennis breaks. I’m exhausted with all this activity!

I‘ve had two new foster children for a few weeks now. Siblings. I don’t know what to say except I’m shattered. Emotionally and physically. It breaks my heart every time I start again. Neglect. I can never get my head around it. They’re gorgeous, beautiful children x ❤️

There’s so much that I find rewarding in being a foster carer but trying to persuade a child to have a bath for the first time, the happiness they eventually find in this and then having them demand baths every night forever after is just the best feeling x❤️

Ever banged on a cubicle door in the swimming pool changing room, only to be ignored, so you bang louder saying if they don’t come out we won’t be getting a treat and then the door opens and the man, not your child, says he thinks you have the wrong door but what’s the treat?🤦‍♀️😂

For weeks, in my best Shania Twain voice, I’ve been singing ‘Let’s go girls..doodoodododododo..’ every time we go anywhere. The song came on the radio. A look of utter contempt on their faces. You’ve ruined a good song just to make us go faster, they wailed! Ruined is harsh!

Do you think anyone will notice that my 11 year old foster child’s white school shirt is dyed very slightly pink by her younger sisters red school polo shirt? 🤦‍♀️😂

I appear to have irritated a few people today. I suggested to some very *important people, that possibly no one truly knows or understands a child until they’ve put them to bed, been there if they wake in the night and seen their beautiful face in the morning! 🤷‍♀️😂 *self-

So much happens, unfolds in the first few months of looking after new foster children. It’s never easy. It’s definitely not always fun. It can be hours, days, weeks of endless drama and then..pfff..as if by magic things start to find balance. We know each other. Love begins ❤️

Sometimes I worry there‘s a perception of me being kind, caring, full of compassion for my foster kids. You should know I was so annoyed about something she’d done today that I did not stop or warn my 8 year old of the perils of eating a Wasabi Pea whole🤷‍♀️😂 #YoureBeingRidiculous

8 was drawing pictures of ice cream cones, tubs and ice lollies; possibly trying to suggest she’d like ice cream for her tea. I said she should draw a flake and now I feel really quite sad that she genuinely didn’t know what a flake was. She’ll know by tomorrow evening.

Made the mistake of telling my foster children a few weeks ago that I had a little crush on Nikita the Strictly dancer. They‘ve not stopped making little kissy noises at me and now today 8s teacher and her both made kissy sounds at the school gate; like they’ve been talking🤦‍♀️😍😂

This has to stop! For days my 8yr old foster child has been pretending I’m a 5yr old girl called Jessica. I go to school daily (I go along with it, she needs to get stuff out) she’s my teacher. I’m in trouble for refusing school today. Also, Jesssica‘s really f***ing annoying!
