A must read for all wine lovers! IGA Applied Genomics & partners on origins of European grapes used for today’s wine making. According to genetic footprints the most genetic diversity among IT & FR cultivated grapevines. nature.com/articles/s4146… Cheers!

Please share! My previous Research Geneticist position is open at USDA. Abiotic stress genetics in 🍇, ❄️ and drought focus but open to innovation. 😃 to share pros and cons. Would be lab mates with my program in a new building. US citizen or US National. usajobs.gov/job/631597300

#GraftingTheGrape Grafting is an ancient agricultural practice but it was only used on grapevines to solve the issue of phylloxera infestations of Vitis vinifera roots in vineyards in Europe in the late 19th century. Let's take a look at this innovation! #MobotToYou

Does anyone know of any papers that pair natural gene expression studies (outside, not in a growth chamber) to real time environmental data (defined broadly). Plants preferable, but any system would be great.

Our new Vitis Underground preprint where I worked with students in California to sample grape leaves. We found that leaf area was not correlated with lobing, but rather, more highly lobed leaves compensated for the reduction in area with longer veins! 😱🍇🍃 biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

It's not hyperbole when I say that the DiscoveryCenter is a world-wide science center located in Downtown Springfield or that I get the honor of leading the best team in the world #TeamIncredibles. We are honored to receive the Association of Science and Technology Centers award in community service!
