I never learned these blocks during residency, but I’ve since performed and instructed all of these. Nice reminder that we are all lifelong learners!

Dr Sweitzer’s cataract statement a few years ago revolutionized our cataract preop evaluation. I can’t remember the last time we held up a cataract in someone who could lie flat. AICD? No worries as long as we know it’s working and have recent cards eval. #samba24

It would be pretty rare to cancel a cataract surgery under MAC/topical on the day of surgery at our surgery centers. It’s a conversation of the huge benefits of proceeding versus the minuscule risks.
