Can never quite recreate the atmosphere of the festive season that I enjoyed whilst serving. In 95 spent Xmas & New year alongside Mare Harbour. It was such a positive atmosphere despite the fact we were all so far from family and loved ones. Xmas dinner pot wash as a Chief.

Just checked ships movements, apparently NIL today but I’m sure three ships came sailing in earlier.

English National Cross Country Championships at Parliment Hill today. Well done all finishers. I remember sinking ankle deep in the mud on the start line looking up at that famous climb, thinking 9 miles won’t be easy but I’ll give it my best.

Out on a stroll in Seahouses Northumberland.

Shout out to the Old Chapel Cidery at ETAL Northumberland. Visited the castle ruin there today and found the former museum is now a Cidery owned/run by Phil Elliott ex RN Chockhead (RNAS YEOVILTON FIRE STATION). Now enjoying a glass or two of his product.

6 June 1944 - let’s put aside all other for the moment and pay tribute to that momentous day. I’ll be paying my own on the beaches of Normandy later this month.

Took a trip out to Weymouth and Portlandia on the motorcycle today, popped into the Veterans Hub Cafe by the Causeway, first time visit to satisfy my curiosity. WoW! what a fantastic facility providing a breadth of support to ex military folk or a friendly chat with kindred folk.

A visit to Gold and Juno beach memorials today.

Another hot on bike tour today.

Ex HMS WESTMINSTER CPO’s MESS 1997. It’s good to catch up.
