A 7.3 magnitude earthquake 45 miles SW of Eureka, CA has triggered a tsunami warning for parts of the CA and OR coast. The tsunami danger for other parts of the coastline are still being evaluated. More to come...

It's a VERY large earthquake, possibly/probably among the 10 largest ever recorded. A clear subduction megathrust event. And another M>8.5 event with a notable foreshock (the recent M7.4 in same location), like Tohoku 2011. Tsunami warnings/watches should be taken seriously.

The Tsunami Watch has been changed to a Tsunami Advisory. Tsunami waves can be expected between 1140 pm and 1155 pm. Wave Heights on Long Beach, WA are expected to be less than a foot. Seaside and Newport are not yet available. Tsunami Evacuation Zones: nvs.nanoos.org/TsunamiEvac
