Researchers at RTI International and Insight Policy Research, in an analysis for The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, identified that national implementation of low intensity post-treatment #ColorectalCancer surveillance can reduce burden & costs for patients + caregivers. Does anyone else just feel numb when reading the news these days? From Ukraine to Uvalde to still more places that aren’t getting as much attention, my brain can’t even process the pure horror of innocent children being killed.

I think what bothers me the most is the near universal acceptance of this as something that even is appropriate for the government to control. Calling being “pro-choice” a political perspective feels perverse and inherently problematic. #DobbsvJackson

I am thrilled to see the CMS HEALTHY KIDS grants recognized for their challenging and important work. I have had the pleasure of co-leading the TA efforts for these grantees with my colleagues at RTI International and can't wait to work with these new awardees! npr.org/sections/healt…

May I share my excitement about finally having a fully vaccinated toddler? He handled the needle like a champ and only was upset when he was told that he couldn't get a second in his other arm. #KidVaccine #COVID19Vaccine #vaccinated #CancelCovid UNICEF

I almost forgot about the lovely conversation that I had with Kara Baskin in June. She did a great job discussing how families weigh #COVID19 vaccination for their youngest kids in this article. Bottom line? "The benefits of vaccinating outweigh any risk." bostonglobe.com/2022/06/24/lif…

It still feels so, so strange when I am the only person wearing a mask. A quick Google says that the estimated R0 for BA.5 is 18.6. We know that infection severity can be correlated with exposure viral load. Shouldn't throwing on a mask be a super easy choice? What am I missing?

I know that most people in public health aren't happy with Biden's comments about the pandemic being over. I can't help but wonder if this also might be an opportunity for messaging that helps establish both COVID and flu vaccines as a really easy norm to maintain.

Tweeted out 3 facts yesterday: 1) Ventilation/filtration reduce exposure 2) Masks reduce exposure 3) COVID infection risk is probabilistic function of exposure Some requests to show data behind these facts. So here we go… 🧵

Listening to Fetterman v. Oz… It’s a little surreal that the person arguing that we should trust doctors to make decisions in the best interest of women is not the doctor.

Imagine if the lawmakers supporting this bill had to personally break this news to every single child who is being told that their identity is invalid and that strangers in the legislature know more about what is best for them than their parents and doctors.
