For those of us with hearing loss, it isn't even a question. For many without hearing loss, it isn't even a question either!

Should we start sympathizing with hearing people who don't have access to open captions or don't know about their availability?

They CAN do it. They just don't want to do it.

Every time there's a social media post related to open captions, someone w/o hearing loss says they want open captions. If the theater industry wants to survive, and wants to keep avid moviegoers coming, it needs to heed the growing demand for OC! @ercboxoffice

Tracking sales of the ASL Jesus film (today 6/20 and Sunday 6/23) where we can. At just the ones we can track, the total number of advance tickets sold just blew past 15,000 (281 theaters with 637 screenings)! Yes, it has open captions for those who don't know sign language.

Eleven cinemark theaters in California started regular open captions this weekend: folsom, Fremont, Los Angeles, mountain view, Napa, oxnard, rancho mirage, redding, Rocklin, San bruno, Yuba city.
