A very hot one for Fridays 5.5 miles Towpath walk. The group set off from Fradley Junction, fully loaded with water and plenty of suncream An added bonus, a glimpse of the Red Arrows team heading to the nearby National Memorial Arboretum, as part of Remembering VJ Day.

Fridays walk was wet and through WW2 Fradley Airfield, along a stretch of the Coventry Canal, Fradley Village, returning via the Trent & Mersey at Alrewas. Included a resumé of the Airfields, WW2, and ghostly tales of headless ghosts. Next months walk, 28th November.

End of season mtg for VLKs and Welcome Station Volunteers. Ed Moss National Volunteering Development Manager awarding bronze and silver badges for total volunteer hours. Fab cakes by Chris and a total of £150 made for Children In Need from two such meetings. #canalandrivertrust

Fradley Junction Towpath Walking Group This months route thru Alrewas Hayes and then Orgreave Hall, Alrewas, back to Fradley Junction, 5.25 miles. Fund raiser Children in Need, and Chris once again produced a dazzling display of his home made cakes, raising £152.50 on the day.

Fabulous day for the groups last walk of 2025. Started with coffees and Ruth’s delicious home made mince pies. Walks paused for Jan & Feb, and resume March 2026. Dates to be sent out in January. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas, and a wonderful New Year.

An eager 23 walkers set off from Fradley Junct towards Alrewas. Then on to a section of the River Trent. We watched one very brave boat battling the current. Then to the medieval village of Wychnor, and its beautiful church, heading back to Fradley Junction, approx 5.5 miles.

Pre-season VLK Fradley meeting Friday 20.3.26 Chris provided us with wonderful cakes. Cake donations of £105 for Truman Enterprise Narrowboat Trust -  Providing Narrowboat experience for disabled people. See his certificates from his previous donations Thank you Chris ❤️

This months Fradley Walk, followed by homemade cakes with donations going to the Enterprise Trust raising money for a new narrowboat catering for disabled people. donations of £49 plus from the VLK meeting of £105 handed over to Sheila Thanks to all who donated.
