“Do the difficult things while they are easy and do the great things while they are small. A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.” - Lao Tzu Great achievements are simply the macro output of thousands of micro inputs. Small becomes big. - Sahil Bloom

From above, it’s clear that Seth Raynor’s engineering miracle at Fishers Island Club really shouldn’t exist. Delicately strung together like an elegant strand of pearls, the holes here seem to cling to land against the relentless efforts of the sea to reclaim them. Remarkable.

Yup, the “engine” of pitches and chips is rib cage and pelvis rotation back and thru. “Body rotates, arms hang on for the ride and wrists create the artistry”-JY. Notice it’s “wide” back and how much right arm goes across body thru it. Good things to copy on a pitch.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted any black and white shots, and I thought you might like these from Chicago Golf Club. Founded as a club all the way back in 1894 with a course designed by Seth Raynor in 1921, CGC looks like a museum piece regardless. A true stunner in any hue.

Every PGA TOUR event should allow a couple of amateurs to play rounds 1 & 2. They play from same tees as pros. I'd watch a couple weekend warriors slap 100+ on the board. ➡️Select players via lottery ➡️$200 per ticket ➡️All money goes to charity ➡️One entry per person

By request, the Newport Country Club. Founded in 1893, USGA charter member in 1894, host of the first USGA national championships in 1895, and a proud steward of a magnificent Whitney Warren clubhouse and an A.W. Tillinghast-designed links, Newport drips with history and charm.

10th hole at Riviera. Look how strategy has changed. The dots shows where each tee shot finished. Notice the last few years. Nearly everyone going for it.
