We had a great time at CamdenLearningDisabilityService #healthfest2022 last week! We organised some activities about social media safety as part of our Adult Community Learning courses.

2/2 Now it’s 2 nurses making a great effort to comfort and support properly spending time; the feedback is welcome and shows that things are moving in the right direction 🤞 @NHS_HealthEdEng Psychiatry of ID CamdenLearningDisabilityService The Challenging Behaviour Foundation

1. So why did the CLDS Social Work win the gold award? Bc they fought x 6 yrs to change someone’s life; a black autistic woman w/ #ld who was deemed beyond discharge from hospital

2. The CLDS Social Work and health professionals worked relentlessly to change attitudes and be unwavering in the face of an unhelpful or slow to move system where ethic discrimination and racism likely played a role too

3. The case is relevant to all of the UK #ld services looking to discharge inpatients; this is a process that won’t respond to deadlines and #CTRs but will definitely need committed professionals keeping recovery and optimism as guiding principle
