Did you know: movies and tv shows tend to dub over the call of Bald Eagles because their high-pitched giggle-like call doesn't match their regal stature. #birding #birdingphotography #birdcalls #birdwatching #podcast #birdlovers #TwitterNatureCommunity #birdsofprey

Not all ducks are either "drakes" or "hens." Males not yet in their adult plumage ("drakes") are, well, males not yet in their adult plumage. Like this strange and beautiful second-year male Hooded Merganser at Hecla Pond, Louisville, Colo. #birdphotography #BirdTwitter

Swainson's Flycatcher Like the rest, he lives alone most of the year. The characteristic chant is a tearful call, short, repeated several times at short intervals. It is mostly heard in the early morning.

Calling All Birds thank you for making this podcast! I said this year was the year I learn to bird by ear, but with a young toddler, I haven't even made it out with binoculars yet this migration. It wasn't looking good. Till I found you! Two episodes in, just love it.

Calling All Birds Thanks to you all I now know black-capped chickadees chill in our Chicago city parks in summer! I might not have seen one during my walk this morning, but I sure appreciated them calling 'hey sweetie' from way up in the trees as I strolled along the lagoon. Wonderful company.
