WATCH THIS: Imagine if YOUR national government spoke this way about building more roads vs investing in public transit? Very interesting things coming out of Wales lately. Worth watching. #InducedDemand #PublicTransit #Wales

We’d been sitting in Valencia’s Plaça de l'Ajuntament for a while when it suddenly hit us: “This was filled with traffic four years ago!” Testament that even to the keen eye, car-free feels like the natural state of cities. It just takes courage to push the invasive species out.

The Dutch ride bikes for transportation around cities so much, the resulting air pollution & CO2 emissions savings are the equivalent of planting 54 million trees a year. Air pollution is estimated to cause 3.7 million premature deaths each year. Via @WEF.

We urge you to complete this consultation and make the following points: 🧵 The proposed design is bad for pedestrians, bad for cyclists and could be far better for bus users. It ignores design guidelines and the recommendations of the Bus Service Improvement Plan, itself.

Sussex and Surrey police want your thoughts on antisocial driving. You can tell them if you think Operation Crackdown is of any value at all - or not...

Only 2 days left to tell the Council what you think about the Marine Parade bus lane plans. We think it doesn't do enough for people who walk, wheel, cycle or use buses. See Bricycles good analysis at x.com/Bricycles/stat… then share your thoughts at yourvoice.brighton-hove.gov.uk/en-GB/

Now that prisoners - including some convicted of violent crimes - are being released early due to overcrowding, it is even more outrageous that peaceful climate protesters face jail. The Tories' authoritarian anti-protest laws must be repealed.

Less than a week to go until Kidical mass returns on Sunday - and the feeder rides will be greeted at the peace statue by the Drum and Blaze samba band!😊

I lived in #Paris in the 90s. A city totally dominated by cars. Hard to walk in, a nightmare to ride a bike in. Look at it now: a city where cars, rather than people, have trouble moving. Which, in the overheated, hurricane-plagued 2020s, is how a city *should* look.

🚲IMPORTANT!🚲 Please complete the government survey on their spending review by Feb 9th - it takes a few minutes. We need £2 billion invested annually - this would provide a £38 billion return on investment. Cycling UK have provided a guide and link here: action.cyclinguk.org/page/163751/pe…
