One full month of fellowship down and I can honestly say I’m happy with my decision. Child Abuse Peds is TOUGH but having the support of everybody involved is pure gold. So grateful to be in this space where my emotions aren’t ignored.

6:00 p.m. šŸ„ And, just like that, the move from Egleston Hospital to Arthur M. Blank Hospital is complete. History has been made, and there’s not a dry eye in sight.

I’m tired of always having to figure things out… (it usually doesn’t get figured out if I’m being honest lol). I’m just tired.

One of the prosecutors leading this training looked around the room and was like ā€œhmm not very diverseā€ as she was talking about the benefits of a diverse MDT. Lmao… I’m the ONLY person of color in this room. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

I was quoted $900 to fix all my brakes/rotors. I was like absolutely not. Which ones are going to kill me if I don’t get them fixed today? šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Soooo my rear brakes were fixed right… but I’m kind of perplexed that after inspecting the actual tires… they didn’t put air in them. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ because they definitely need it. I can change a tire no problem… but putting air in it is always a struggle.

Although expensive… Virginia has been on my list of potential places to live and it just moved to the top because NC nor PA did what they were supposed to do.

A little bit of advice as you make your Peds rank list… pay attention to what rotations you will have to do at the end of third year. ESPECIALLY if you’re planning on doing fellowship. #pedsmatch25

I can’t say I find a lot of joy in medicine anymore… don’t get me wrong, I love my patients but I go home most days feeling so blah. I try really hard to find glimmers but like do I need to step away? Has anyone felt like this? How did you get over it?
