This is implemented through monitoring of all successful and unsuccessful data, voice (mobile originated and mobile terminated) and SMS signalling in real-time. This means that call success and unsuccessful metrics can be measured and monitored.

Of course, it also enables our systems to monitor activity which falls outside of our alarm (modulated) parameters, immediately notifying our support teams and service partners.

A second example of our key mission-critical features is the availability of dynamic whitelists for our clients. This means that vulnerable end users such as elderly persons or lone workers will not be able to called by spurious or malicious phone numbers.

Blocking these vital lifelines or worse seeking to trick or defraud the vulnerable end-user. This means that only service approved telephone numbers may call or SMS the end user device. In most circumstances this is the Alarm Receiving Centres.

Blocking of SMS can also mean that vulnerable devices cannot be hacked by malicious SMS seeking to alter key set-up parameters. bit.ly/missioncritica…

Thirdly and critically, we provide the facility to use UK mobile telephone numbers on a multi-network SIM card. This is important as most multi-network providers use an off-shore telephone number. This can incur substantial cost premiums for calls from and to the device.

Utilising UK telephone numbers means that calls from UK call centres and from other valid subscribers will be charged at UK to UK levels and not treated as an international call.

Additionally, number formats are standard 12 digit UK telephone DLI so will not be blocked by network systems or platforms that are not allowing premium call services to proceed in certain circumstances. Vital for mission-critical health and telecare applications.

Our systems and platforms can also provide Virtual Private Network (VPN) options which allow data connections to be encrypted between end-user devices and service applications or Alarm Receiving Centres (ARC’s). We use industry-leading cloud-based services with redundant links.

These features are important as more sophisticated devices are increasingly sending information which require greater data privacy and security for companies, service providers and end users.
