🔬 This #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, we're proud to showcase work by @PDOttewell's The University of Sheffield lab team to develop ways of counteracting the effect of oestrogen, to make the drug zoledronic acid an effective therapy for more breast cancer patients. #ForTheOneInTwo

Work by Penny's group, fully funded by Weston Park Cancer Charity, shows that zoledronic acid doesn't (yet) improve outcomes for pre-menopausal breast cancer patients because the higher levels of oestrogen found pre-menopause interfere with the drug's activity. #ForTheOneInTwo
