Even if social media companies could reduce sextortion, CSAM, deepfake porn, bullying, self-harm content, drug deals, and social-media induced suicide by 80%, I think the main take away from those Senate hearings is: Social media is just not appropriate for children. Congress

Just go to a state school. The premium you're paying for elite private colleges vs. the better public schools is for social clout and not the quality of the education. And that's worth a lot less now that people have figured out that elite higher ed is cringe.

We need to find a healthy space between treating people like their feelings don’t matter & treating them like their feelings & self-perceptions are the center of the universe. God says we’re worth loving & saving, but we can be self-deceptive & we don’t determine what’s true.

Breaking | I’m hearing reports that Kamala Harris is considering Indiana Mayor Jerry Gergich as a vice presidential nominee. Gergich, in his fifth term, is an engineer and ordained minister who could help Harris appeal to blue collar white voters in the Midwest.

No matter how you vote, you are welcome in our church. I just ask that you would commit to see politics thru Jesus & not Jesus thru your politics; that you would be curious about why your brothers & sisters see things differently. And that you would live humble, prayerful lives.

In democracy, we have to persuade others if we want to see change. But most of our rhetoric seeks to humiliate them instead. People don’t change their minds by us telling them how stupid and evil they are. Dismissing their struggles only makes them more likely to dismiss ours.

Tomorrow is Election Day. I will do my duty as a citizen before God tomorrow. I am not afraid of any of the potential outcomes tomorrow. I love my neighbors regardless of the outcome tomorrow.

Voting Republican doesn’t make you a Christian. Voting Democratic doesn’t make you a non-Christian. Voting D doesn’t make you a Christian. Voting R doesn’t make you a non-Christian. What makes someone a Christian is faith in Jesus Christ, and expressing that faith in love.
