In a tiny corner of western Poland a forest of about 400 pine trees grow with a 90 degree bend at the base of their trunks - all bent northward. Surrounded by a larger forest of straight growing pine trees this collection of curved trees is a mystery. #DoSomeScience #ArborDay

This is Glaucus atlanticus - also known as the sea swallow, blue glaucus, blue dragon, blue sea slug and blue ocean slug. These little creatures spend their life floating upside down in the water being carried by ocean currents and winds. #DoSomeScience #WorldOceansDay
