The playoff will continue to make everyone mad until we acknowledge that the conferences are way too big and we need to go back to geographical conferences of 12 teams each

So Ohio State will drop to No. 6, right? Two years ago, defending national champ Georgia went undefeated in the regular season and then lost the SEC championship game by three points. On a turnover. The Bulldogs fell from No. 1 to No. 6. So we can expect the same thing, no?

While today's playoff decisions will help determine the future of conference championship games, there's a larger issue not getting enough discussion: Why is Notre Dame given massive advantages no other program enjoys? The Irish: Don't have to play in a conference. Don't have

Honestly insane that winning the SEC Title wasn’t enough to put the Dawgs at 2. Wasn’t as good as conference championship loss lol

But honestly. I think, shockingly, the committee got it as right as they could. Holy cow! THE GAMES MATTER. CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS MATTER.

The fact that Georgia & Texas Tech would’ve landed exactly where they are today without playing a game yesterday is the biggest indictment on this sham of a selection process.

Notre Dame - Got beat by the two Top 10 teams they played - Don’t play in a conference - Want us to believe they’re an elite team because they spent 2 months running up the score on the Stanford, Syracuse and Navy - Conveniently aren’t going to play in a bowl game to prove it

Georgia was the first #1 seed to lose a conference championship game & get bounced from the CFP. The Dawgs went to the Orange Bowl, beat Florida State by 60 & Kirby Smart used the presser to advocate for changes in college football. Notre Dame just decided to pout.

Looking at reactions from today’s CFP bracket release… It’s odd to me how many Midwestern based sportswriters have issues with Alabama staying at #9 while not being bothered by Ohio St being #2 over UGA UGA beat everyone on its schedule and had multiple wins better than OSU

John Kurtz (@jlkurtz) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Wait, hold up. Notre Dame wouldn’t join the league in football yet expected the ACC to not advocate for Miami, a full member that is a flight risk, just to appease Notre Dame? All while ND secretly has a clause in the next playoff contract so that this won’t happen again??

Brianne Snodgrass (@bwelch15) 's Twitter Profile Photo

It’s crazy how entitled Notre Dame is and how they truly thought the ACC should back them when they are not in a conference 😂 Also, we need to look into this clause next year that basically guarantees Notre Dame is in the playoff. Insane the handouts this program expects

If Notre Dame doesn't want to join a Power 4 Conference, Power 4 Conferences should stop scheduling games against them. Their sweetheart deal with ESPN guarantees them a spot if they're ranked 12 or higher, a spot that would almost assuredly come at the expense of a Power 4 team

Stewart Mandel (@slmandel) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Yes, I can just picture Notre Dame’s heartbroken players got together in the locker room and said, “You know what we should do? Shut down our season so ESPN’s ratings for the Pop-Tarts Bowl go down and they lose some ad revenue.”
