Rope Rescue Training: Operational Level (5/12-5/15/25) FF Kevin Gunnarson, FF Ryan Malone & FF Joe Matrisciano attended the 32-hour course hosted by the Department of Fire Services at the Fall River Training Academy. The course meets or exceeds the NFPA 1006 standard.

Metro Boston Fire Conference (5/17 & 5/18/25) Deputy Chief Grafton, Lt. Thomas Luckman, III, FF Hamilton, FF Malone, FF Matrisciano & FF Sullivan attended the Metro Boston Fire School Conference. The conference was held in Foxboro & included a lecture series & practical training.

At the Brockton Hospital EMS Week Rounds, members were presented w/the 2025 Emergency Medical Service Award. The award is in recognition of the extraordinary service provided to our community. The following FF’s received an award: Cunningham, Farias, Forant, Jorge, & Matrisciano

Thanks to the Cadet family for stopping by the station to celebrate Aiden’s 3rd Birthday! Happy Birthday! We really enjoyed the visit & hope they did too!

Engine 1 responded to the Town of Whitman for Mutual Aid at 15:04. We were assigned as the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) at the scene of a working fire. RIT is a designated crew that is available at the scene for search & rescue if a Firefighter is missing, trapped or injured.

Last week, the Bridgewater Fire Department conducted training with our new Panther Airboat. It is replacing our 1991 Airboat that has reached the end of its useful service life.

The Bridgewater Fire Department Community Risk Reduction team joined the Mitchell Monsters for their Field Day. Before water balloons went flying, we reviewed the importance of Home Escape Plans & Exit Drills. We finished by helping the principals with their ice bucket challenge!

We had a fire truck ride to school with Charlotte & Lincoln earlier this week. They were the lucky winners of a raffle prize & we hope they enjoyed it!

Lt. Sean Peters was the guest reader, along with his son Connor. They read to Mrs. Haywards preschool class last week. What a special treat during the end for the school year!

The Community Risk Reduction Team attended the Williams Intermediate School Field Day. We teamed up with the Bridgewater Police to review safety messaging: Working Smoke Alarms, Home Escape Plans & Exit Drills Save Lives. Thank you for inviting us to be a part of this great day!

Lt Peters, FF’s Barratt, Daigle, Farias, Frey, Lundstedt & Malone attended the Pediatric Trauma Training held at Carver Fire. The 4-hour simulation training was offered by Community Outreach Mobile Education Training in conjunction with Brockton Hospital EMS.

We responded to 6 calls in one hour today! The calls: a commercial fire alarm, 3 medicals, a lift assist, a 3 car motor vehicle accident that resulted in 3 transports & 1 patient refusal. This required off duty personnel to get called in & mutual aid from West Bridgewater Fire.

Fire Truck Ride to School (6/12/25) - We had a another Fire Truck Ride to School with Charles & Thomas. They were the lucky winners of a raffle prize & we hope they enjoyed it!

Our Firefighters participated in the BFIT Heroes Cup Hockey Tournament again this year. The Heroes Cup Tourney is made up of fire, police, military and EMS. We had 2 teams with players from Bridgewater Fire & Bridgewater Police.
