Only 2 days until the poll closes regarding the land #temperature dataset I should use to assess #globalwarming in early 2025. Only 1 vote so far and it might have been a misclick my me.

A new study focused on improving global temperature data uses sea ice data from our NOAA@NSIDC program. The sea ice data sets fill in historical gaps to better explain uneven warming. Learn more: nsidc.org/news-analyses/…

This is truly amazing. The Deputy White House Press Secretary is claiming that I'm wrong, and that the "tariff rates" on Trump's chart were calculated by "literally" measuring every country's tariffs and non-tariff trade barriers. To prove it, he screenshots the formula the USTR

I finished processing an updated #temperature dataset (DCENT_MLE_v1.1) using data from Duo Chan and the DCENT team. According to this dataset, 2024 was 1.71 °C warmer than the 1850-1900 average with a 95% confidence interval of [1.57,1.85] °C. #climatechange #globalwarming

New paper finds that the transition from wooden to canvas buckets for sea surface temperature measurements occurred much earlier than previously though, suggesting that the early 1900s were slightly warmer than previously thought. #climatechange Duo Chan doi.org/10.1029/2025GL…

Nimbus satellite observations can be used to study how sea ice has changed over several decades by extending the satellite record of sea ice data 14 years before the continuous record started. Check out the Nimbus Data Rescue Project for images and data: nsidc.org/data/nimbus
