Hi everyone, I’m Brittany Boyd. I’m a 4th grade math, science and social studies teacher from York, Pa. Today I’m feeling productive!

A2: In regards to identifying arrays or geometric figures, students can use VR to explore natural spaces where math concepts are present. #NearpodChat

A3: VR can be used to walk the shoes of another individual. We are already using literature, videos, personal narratives,etc to teach this concept, why not with VR? #NearpodChat

A4: We are using 1:1 iPads, we provide MacBooks for students who may have forgotten their device, and we also use Apple TV’s to Airplay the teacher device. #NearpodChat

A5: Start slow, set your expectations & remember it’s okay if you don’t finish the lesson in one day. Start with a concept your students may be more familiar with. #NearpodChat

Learning about the scientific method with our Penny Lab!

Our morning meeting discussion focused on why doing your best is important (even when something is difficult). We had some great dialogue!

We received our Pride Shirts from our 6th grade friends in Mrs. Riddle’s class! Look at our school spirit!

This week we began our Geography and Map Skills unit. We’re using our giant puzzle to practice memorizing our state locations!

Happy TWOSday!! Today we learned all about palindromes! What can you draw on the other half of a two? We drew swans, penguins, a girl playing hide and seek, a house, etc. We also found and measured objects that were exactly 2 centimeters, 2 inches, 2 feet and 2 meters!

Yesterday we investigated how to use a battery and wires to create a successful circuit to light a lightbulb! 💡

Way to go Lauren!! This was such a neat experience for all involved. Be on the lookout for the new design driving around town!

Seeing my partner teacher, @MrsMarch_NHE, use these every morning has been inspirational! The kids LOVE choosing one each day!
