I talked a lot of shit about the iOS update that ushered in flat design when it was first announced over a decade ago. It turned out fine, and I ate my words. Liquid glass is gonna be cool. Gonna find something else more important to be upset about.

I do have one hot take on liquid glass that I haven’t seen yet. It’s the first step in eliminating a lot of the physical hardware we’re used to. Devices are going to catch up to the software this time.

My initial thoughts after using iOS 26 are not great. The interface is very much front and center. I was hoping for something that disappeared into the background and was unobtrusive. This is not it. Unintended upside…it makes me want to use my phone less.
