This subtle feather-like impression in the rock is the 560 million year old fossil Bradgatia linfordensis - named after The Bradgate Park Trust🦌 and Newtown Linford🏘️ Bradgatia is one of the oldest known animal fossils, and was first described in #CharnwoodForest! 🌳 #FossilFriday

🍄 Fungi, including mushrooms, are an important part of the ecosystems in Charnwood Forest. 🚫 It is an offence to pick mushrooms within many of the Geopark's protected natural sites - including Beacon Hill, Bradgate Park, and The Outwoods.
