During our Mandarin lesson this morning, we were learning how to read, write and say the names of the different members of our family! We enjoyed learning that when reading Chinese characters, they sometimes look similar to their meanings! 🇨🇳

We were super proud of A today who brought in his football trophy to show us! Well done, A!! 🤩⚽️

This morning we practised our Chinese writing by creating a family tree and labelling it with the Mandarin words for the different members of our family! Some of us chose to draw our own family, others enjoyed drawing their favourite TV character’s family! 🇨🇳📝🌳

We have been exploring recount writing by watching ‘The Snowman’ and retelling the story in the form of a diary entry. To go along with our writing, we decided to follow a step by step video on how to sketch our own version of the Snowman! ☃️📝

D was super excited to tell us all about new hobby of making Christmas tree origami! We are looking forward to her teaching us how to make them during activity time on Friday! 🎄

This week we read ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ and then planned and wrote our own procedural double page spreads on how to steal Christmas! 🎄🎅🏼📝

Primary 6 have been working so hard over the last few weeks learning the Makaton to go along with our Christmas song ‘Merry Christmas Everyone’. I was so proud of them for their amazing performance this morning at the Church for our Christmas Service🎄🎅🏼🎶

Last week we enjoyed researching and making posters & presentations on Canva all about New Year around the world. We each chose a country to research and found it very interesting comparing the different traditions to ours in Scotland!

This afternoon we were exploring what it means to have a balanced diet. We then created some healthy eating plans that included foods from all the different food groups! We loved sharing our ideas aloud and magpieing suggestions from each other! 🍽️🍎🫐🥩

This afternoon we were investigating food labels and the traffic light system we use to recognise how healthy something is for us. We enjoyed exploring supermarket websites to find and compare different products that were high/low in energy, salt, carbohydrates and sugar! 🍎🥕🍇
