Question for other camera trappers. Do you always batch rename image files from default to something according to metadata (ie site_date_time.jpg)? Or do you just extract all the metadata and keep image file name as it was? Ask bc running into issue where renaming corrupts files.

This is great stuff. I really like what the East Foundation does for wildlife and working lands in Texas, more of this sort of thing is needed everywhere! Plus, I am in support of anything to have more ocelots in more places wildlife.org/new-agreement-…

The longtime voice of the Yankees, John Sterling, has retired. Sad day in the baseball world. As a kid in NY in the 90s I listened to WFAN in the car with my dad. In the early 00s in MA we'd try to catch the signal from NY on clear summer nights after Legion games. End of an era!

One of our many exciting research projects is looking at wildlife recovery following severe mega fires. We have ARUs and cameras at 130 sites in two burns. Lots of steep, loose, and rugged areas, but wildlife still use the habitat!

As I pack up to head to Montana for my 60th high school reunion and my 55th consecutive year in the field, I can’t help thinking back to the summer of 1974 when I dug up my first dinosaur from the Judith River Formation. I had just flunked out of college and had no job prospects.
