My last #photonics Boyd NLO Research Group paper as lead is finally out, and it's an Editor's Suggestion at Physical Review Letters! We use zero-index waveguides to study NLO phase-matching. I started this project in Mar '14 & you finally get to see it thanks to Justin Gagnon! journals.aps.org/prl/abstract/1…

To what extent can free space be compressed using nonlocal flat optics ('spaceplates')? We answer this question in a new paper published today in #OSA_Optica, work led by Kunal Shastri Cornell ECE Cornell Engineering, and with Orad Reshef, PhD, R. Boyd, & Jeff Lundeen. 1/4 opg.optica.org/optica/fulltex…

We won't have a large presence at SPIE Photonics West this year, but check out this talk by our PhD student Saleem Iqbal if you have the chance!

Our paper with John Sipe was recently published as an Editors' Suggestion in Physical Review A! We analytically model cooperative bright and dark modes in bilayer plasmonic metasurfaces, and their selective excitation through coherent perfect absorption go.aps.org/41yrEYQ

Our latest paper was just published in Nanophotonics! We experimentally demonstrate all-optical beam-steering through time refraction using a plasmonic gradient metasurface on an ITO substrate!

Congrats to our newly minted PhD Sam Lemieux for successfully defending his thesis!

See our recent letter in Physical Review A in which we experimentally generate polarization-entangled photons through SPDC pumped by a source lacking both spatial and temporal coherence. Congrats to Girish and Cheng for their hard work paying off! journals.aps.org/pra/abstract/1…
