Scientists utilizing HOV ALVIN aboard the R/V ATLANTIS, discovered pristine deep-sea coral reefs in the Galápagos Marine Reserve. Reefs were found at a depth of 1,310 to 1,970 feet on the summit of a previously unmapped seamount.
