This has been a quite productive weekend πŸ˜„ I kept the weathering moderate trying to give it a used but not a battered look. πŸ˜…

A couple of more pics of my latest finished project. I had the Type 87 1/35 Pit-Road kit in my stash for ages but just now I finally tackled it as what-if project. πŸ˜…πŸ€”

And now to something truly different. Building a kit that is (way...) older than myself πŸ˜‚According to Scalemates Renwal released the Skysweeper in 1955. I recently found this beauty at a garage sale and got it cheap. Collectors might be upset building it but I don't care. πŸ˜…

Well, this is the look inside of this antiquity, no bags, many loose parts but none or only a few seem to be missing. The instructions are gorgeous too, describing each step in depth. There even was a computer back then! πŸ˜…

Building the Renwal Skysweeper kit from 1955: Actually I want this to be a out of the box built but the muzzle brake is so horrible I simply have to do it myself. There are no pics showing the Skysweeper with a muzzle brake so I'm inventing one in the Gepard/Oerlikon style.

Actually I'm surprised by the swift construction progress and the over all good fit part. Only a few corrections necessary with Evergreen plastic strips and rods.

Building the old Renwal Skysweeper kit: as said before this is an OOTB project. But the missing automatic ammo loader cage is so defining that I was forced to reconstruct it from scratch. πŸ˜…

Basic construction is finished, except from some cables and the hand rails I'll add before priming. Over all good fit, decent detail, but heavy thick plastic. Remember this kit was first released in 1955 but does indeed honor to the real thing and is quite fun to assemble. πŸ‘

It has been fun to apply a 'modern' camo scheme to such an old kit like Renwal's Skysweeper πŸ˜…Dull Olive Drab would have been the historically correct choice of course but this seemed boring. I'm actually quite pleased with the over all look of it now. 😁
