I've recognized for a while that I point instructors to How Learning Works (Marsha Lovett et al) more than any other book. FWIW, Interactive Lecturing by Claire Howell Major & Barkley is a close second. It's usefulness extends beyond the titular subject. #highered #facdev #pedagogy

Inspired by DR. ＶＩＪＩ　ＳＡＴＨＹ & @DrMrsKellyHogan's workshop for CRLT@umich & SEISMIC, I used #PollEverywhere at an event today for quiet folks to share questions/thoughts. It went great. A bonus: folks who finished solo activities early could add & engage with the question.

My internal monologue just now: "Oh! It's Friday. That means I can sign this email with "have a great weekend!" and not hem-and-haw over closing options. What a relief!" 🥴😳

GenAI gems: when I asked for another revision to an email that was a little less formal, I got ""Hope this finds you well and that you're surfing the semester wave with style!"
