You’ve probably heard me say this before, and you’re going to hear me say it again: Get vaccinated. If you’ve already done your part and gotten your shots, then encourage those you love to do the same. That’s how we’ll put this pandemic behind us.

Climate action can’t wait. That’s why, today, we announced Canada’s ambitious plans to support the global phase-out of thermal coal, help developing countries transition to clean fuel alternatives as quickly as possible, and cut pollution in the oil and gas sector.

Canada is now the first major oil- and gas-producing nation that is moving to cap oil and gas sector emissions and ensuring they decline at a pace and scale that is needed to achieve net-zero by 2050. At #COP26 today, I urged other major oil- and gas-producing nations to join us.

There is not a single country on this planet that has not seen or felt the impacts of climate change. That’s why we need to come together and act now, and that’s what I spoke about - at every opportunity - with dozens of leaders at #COP26. #TogetherForOurPlanet

It’s here, at vaccine clinics, that we’ll finish the fight against COVID-19. To all of the kids and parents who were at the clinic I visited in Scarborough this morning, thank you for doing your part. And to anyone who hasn’t gotten their shots yet, now’s the time to get them.

My heart goes out to the people of the Philippines, whose lives have been forever changed by last week’s super typhoon. Canadians are sending our deepest condolences to those who lost loved ones - and we’ll keep everyone affected in our thoughts during this challenging time.
