A huge new personal best and school record for Akron-Westfield’s Ian Blowe reaching 61’! That now leads the state of Iowa in all four classes!

Thanks to some of the helpful data on Bound (the website that keeps track of Iowa High School sports stats), we can tell you that Ian Blowe's throw of 61' yesterday at West Lyon is the 17th best boys shot put mark in the state since the beginning of the 2007 season.

Finals are complete in the discus throw at the Drake Relays. Ian Blowe of Akron-Westfield finishes sixth in the field with a best throw of 176'6".

Today at Districts I won both Discus and Shotput qualifying me for State. I threw 180’7” in the Discus and 59’8” in Shotput. Looking forward to defending my state titles at the State Meet next week.

Today I defended my title in Discus with a throw of 175’11”. I am thankful that I was able to end my high school career on top in shotput and discus. Thank you to everyone who has supported me over the years. I’m still uncommitted and looking forward to college.
