Most good investing ins't about making great decisions. It's about consistently not screwing up. "Decent returns for a very long time" generates incredible results.

Madsen South @BazCap @hailcurtis On trend 2023 EPS for the S&P is prob $210 vs consensus of $243. In a recession maybe we overshoot to the downside. If we assume $200 with inflation coming down and without a financial / geopolitical crisis then is it that crazy to think we should trade at 20x that number?

A simple investment system I follow: 1. Do less 2. Calculate even less 3. Read a lot more 4. Be passionately curious 5. Think alone 6. Wait for no-brainers 7. Make few decisions and make them count 8. Invest when it's safe not to diversify 9. Record your decisions

It is the worst year for buying the stock-market dip in almost 100 years. The S&P 500 has dropped 1.2% on average this year in the week after a one-day loss of at least 1%. That is the biggest such decline since 1931. wsj.com/articles/buyin…

Any BlueLinx $BXC bulls or bears here? Trying to understand why the stock is so (optically) cheap here. I know ... "housing market could crash." Expectations embedded in the current price seem like a crazy low hurdle & assume worst case. Would love to learn more. DMs open!

Here's another beauty. Has been on my radar for a while but stopped paying attention to it until I saw it was down 36% today: $ENVX Enovix Corporation claims to make silicon batteries. It generated $8,000 in revenue in Q3. $8,000. Market cap is _still_ $1.8 billion USD.

$PARA preferred's pricing doesn't make sense at ~$27. Will be converted to ~1 share of stock at maturity (~$17/share today). A bit more than 1 coupon ($5.75) doesn't bridge you the difference. Prob some convergence trade here. Thoughts? Maybe I'm missing something

The smartest take from Gappy (Giuseppe Paleologo), "There are multi-manager HFs. And there are HFs that don't know they need to become truly multimanager yet." I keep learning new benefits that come from being part of a multimanager fund. It's hard for single managers to compete with that
