Appreciate this interview between Marc Lamont Hill and saharazizlaw.bsky.social. As Sahar points out, anti-Muslim rhetoric may be nastier and more blatant than it's ever been, but it's not anything new in American politics. It's been a cornerstone of Republican talking points for decades.

The fact that you simply can’t, as a reality of nature, fight a pandemic as an individual based on your own individual choices alone, should show us all that none of us truly exists alone. Our fates truly are bound together. That reality should inform how we live going forward.

I mean, it’s been said constantly, but the refusal to prioritize public health over corporate profits is what doomed the pandemic response. Keeping everyone healthy was never a priority over getting low wage workers back to work.
