There is a shelter belt back there somewhere. It’s going to be fun snow to try to measure. This kind of helps sum up my last post. When you add some falling snow and get into an area that’s had a bit more accumulation you get into “the sweet spot”. #NDwx

Tried to do some measuring before the wind came up. Still snowing, but got somewhere around 6-7 for an average. With how light and fluffy this stuff is, the wind is very efficiently moving snow back into where I just cleared 🙃 NWS Grand Forks #ndwx

Friends, fresh snow, and a highly successful run into Deadwood playing single deck blackjack. I would say a great ski trip to the Black Hills. 🎿💵❄️✅ Time to get back to work the next few weeks. But, better the get the countdown started to skiing in Banff come February 😎

Snirt storm near Manvel. With gusts of up to 70mph, a full blown blizzard where snow exists. I29 is closed, but high winds blew over the automated barricade north of town. Highway Patrol rounding people up. Just another lovely day in the Red River Valley of the north🙃 #ndwx

South of Manvel, true blizzard conditions now. Headed back into town. Still a mix of snow + dirt. Classic ND winter weather tantrum. #ndwx

Escaping the USA for a week, arrived in Banff, home of the Alberta Clipper.🇨🇦 Time to ski. About 1000 miles from home. When you type Grand Forks into the GPS up here, Grand Forks BC pops up before it’s ND counterpart😂

Our friends to the north in Canada are amazing. The friendliest people, unbeatable scenery, and phenomenal skiing, in that order. Tim Hortons is also a nice bonus. Thanks for letting me hop the border north for a few days for a much needed break. I will be back! 🇨🇦🇺🇸❄️⛷️

Insane shift. I think we all had a feeling it would be a big day, but I don’t know if anyone expected this widespread of damage. Huge cudos to the meteorologists across ND tonight. And the classic Fargo street flooding happened, but got some lead time with this one😎 #NDwx

Crops have made quite the turn around after what was looking like a disappointing start with blowing dust in May. Hopefully this active weather pattern the next few weeks stays on the tamer side. Storms ahead of harvest is never fun.

The story of the summer continued again tonight. An overnight line of storms, sig severe gusts, and for some North Dakotans, they yet again woke up to no power. Busy summer for linemen. #NDwx
