We were badly rattled after the first goal and then once we got our heads together we were pretty good. As usual, we lack a bit of cutting edge. We are missing a dribbler in central areas to unlock some opportunities.
Trossard was so fucking dumb man I am livid with him for that. Thank God the ref managed it in a normal way, but that is the exact shit that made our lives hell last season.
We have over-dialed it with the set pieces. Sometimes, you just need to keep momentum going. We had a good flow at the beginning of the 80th and then we killed it to do a long-throw on the right wing.
Have to question City's mentality there though, going into a big title-challenging game like that, taking the lead and then choosing to put all the men behind the ball only to pay the price. Think this is where they've lost it.
One concern I had this season is that we added a lot of players and we are usually slow to integrate new elements. We could have a 23/24-ish start.
Unfortunately, this was exacerbated by a really tough start to the season and a bunch of injuries to key players.
I'm really happy that Eze was trusted to cover Odegaard's role. That was a major reason I liked the signing, given how much we struggled last year without Ode. It's a shame we didn't trigger Eze's clause earlier in pre-season bcs he could've been fully ready for Anfield + today.
