diversity to me means SOOO much more than the 10 poc cast members onstage. what i saw tonight were drops in bucket’s compared to THE MANY white producers, creatives, performers, and audience members.

At the end of the day Audra did something no other actor playing Rose made me feel and it was extreme empathy for her Rose. She got me to care AND seeing her be the first black woman to take on the role on Broadway is something that will never be taken away.

at the end of the day, she shares her gifts with us all because she is compelled to, not because she is awarded to. grateful to be here for this moment for real✨💗🥲
