Great article celebrating Beth Kolko's work on Drip Assist and Shift Labs, which works to help non-traditional innovators disrupt medical technology: geekwire.com/2019/healthcar…

I learned innumerable lessons from Beth Kolko, but perhaps the most important was a pursuit of mastery rather than accreditation. Excited to see what she & Shift Labs have accomplished getting more visibility - geekwire.com/2019/healthcar…

All companies are social impact companies, because all companies impact society. #innovation #startups #impact #SocialImpact

I 💛 startups that have strong social missions. The obvious reason is that I like working on meaningful things, but the meta reason is that most people feel the same way. A 💯 mission helps compete for funding, PR, job candidates, etc. A great mission is a competitive advantage.

Dan Kaminsky was one of smartest people I've ever known. He wrote an op-ed for CyberScoop - @cyberscoop.bsky.social the day it debuted, where he called for a better way to guard the internet. Only the cached version exists, but you should read it, as it is very prescient. RIP web.archive.org/web/2020101407…

Aw Dan. The year we met, you showed me a camera that fit in an Altoid box the night HD told me he was building metasploit. Your DNS bug catalyzed the creation of Microsoft Vulnerability Research. But your kindness is what we’ll miss. Rest easy old friend🖤 youtu.be/OCcUqQdDh9U

seriously, this year's UW Human Centered Design & Engineering (HCDE) speaker series was so fresh (hcde.washington.edu/ux). Words from Behzod, Dr. Jaleesa Trapp, Oscar Murillo, Erin McLean helped me think through a humane approach to design that I'm pretty stoked about. Even wrote about it on my site. My fave insights gleaned:
