My summary of Thiel's antichrist lectures: the only thing more terrifying than the end of the world is the empire that promises to prevent it

This is a good summary of Peter Thiel's recent lectures in the UK: thecatholicherald.com/article/peter-… He apparently argued that technological innovation helps create new centers of power and protects us from the creation of a world government.

Mark Teixeira, who's running for an open seat in Congress in my district, has been endorsed by President Trump, Greg Abbott, Mike Johnson, and a number of Congressmen. It's impressive how much progress his campaign has made in a short amount of time.

I just met Mark Teixeira at an event in San Antonio. He was impressive. He spoke about the importance of teamwork in Congress, which he learned from his days as a baseball player. He's gotten a lot of endorsements, despite starting his campaign not having a lot of contacts.

It's exciting to be alive now as AI is happening, but I almost wish I had been around in Silicon Valley back in the early 2000s because it feels like it was so idyllic then. Peter Thiel: Back to the Future (from the Singularity Summit in 2011) youtube.com/watch?v=64Qghw…

.American Enterprise Institute on rent control: "a proven way to make housing scarce and expensive" aei.org/research-produ… My take is that there are limited cases where rent control can make sense, but it should not be done at a large scale, or else it keeps people trapped and keeps market rents high.

Yoram Hazony on the difference between liberals and conservatives, from 2023: "Conservatives begin with an actual nation, or an actual religion, an actual community. And the question they ask is, 'What would I have to do, what we have to do, if we were going to take what is good

I reject the idea that you have to live in a city where houses cost millions of dollars to be a "serious" entrepreneur. Locating your business somewhere where your employees can reasonably expect to be able to raise a family is a huge deal.

Just voted, and there weren't a lot of people there. If you're in Texas, get out and vote! Early voting is until February 27. You'll be voting for senator, a member of Congress, and more.

AI can be really brilliant or really dumb sometimes, so I don't think it's ready to completely replace humans yet. And I don't think that should be the goal either. For a lot of things, you still want human input and judgment.

What’s Impressed Me About Texas Congressional Candidate Mark Teixeira I got to see Mark Teixeira speak recently, and here are my impressions. 1. He is good on policy. He has a thoughtful approach to illegal immigration, he understands that government spending has gotten out of

I went to two political events in the past two days, and just wanted to say it is so refreshing to live in a city where it is normal to hear people talk about God. Both of the politicians talked about faith, and so did the people attending.

I'm fed up with how partisan the news media is. I understand why people in politics are partisan. People in media don't have to be. It isn't right for news channels to side only with one political party. It's fine to have opinions, but you need to be fair.
