In 1927 the bridge connecting Poole to Hamworthy was opened. Here you can see Poole Lifeboat 'Harmar'. She came on station in 1910 & was a new self-righting lifeboat. She was 37ft long & equipped with 12 oars. The lifeboat served Poole for 29 years & saved sixty lives. RNLI
