From a judge's decision in a 1977 court case invalidating a state prostitution statute: "Because prostitution [is] criminally sanctioned, prostitutes and their patrons alike fear reporting ancillary crimes for fear of prosecution." Wild.

Norway just evicted a sex worker on the grounds they had "more than 10 personal close contacts a week". We would like to remind you that when selling sex was forbidden in April, it was on the basis that it was a close contact BUSINESS. This is how screwed up our laws are today.

Polisen i Göteborg har genomfört ytterligare raider mot sexarbetare och våra kunder denna vecka. Under insatserna deltog ett kamerateam och allt som filmas kommer sändas på tv. Med var även poliser från lokalpolisområde Syd som ska utbildas i samma metoder. Vi undrar:

If sex workers who have met hundreds of clients describe their encounter with the Swedish police as the most traumatic moment of their life it must mean that: 1. The police must charge their methods. 2. Swedish law is demonizing the wrong people.

I have never had a client harm me*. I have had two different police precincts entrap me though. *I am so sorry for those who experience violence in this industry. I am not special, it’s taken a lot of work (see less $) to keep from being harmed.
