New beginnings: just arrived in Brussels and looking forward to meeting new colleagues at EU diplomatic service European External Action Service - EEAS 🇪🇺 and European Commission Upcoming weeks will be full of meetings and briefings, with important focus on preparing for confirmation hearing European Parliament

Hopefully Government will retain Bank Levy in upcoming budget, as banks make massive profits. Bank profits are generated by depositing money in European Central Bank not lending into real economy. Cost of funds and no short term lending to businesses and farmers is causing serious problems.

Another indication of how this country has been transformed in recent years. Life expectancy is a key barometer of many aspects of governmental policy. Some people will continue to undermine and discredit our advance as a nation, but the facts don’t lie.
