A day after the 36th anniversary of the release of The Queen is Dead, which featured a pretty strong opening track, and I'm listening to another artist's blistering album opener. Fontaines D.C.. Tom Coll's drumming is brutal God, I love this band.

Enjoyed ‘Elvis’ a whole bunch. Baz Lurhmann’s cinematic blitzkrieg fits the orgasmic reaction to Presley and recalls the anything goes visual approach of Ken Russell or JFK era Oliver Stone at times. Austin Butler does a great job, his physical performance uncanny at times.

Language matters

A big thank you to a lovely lady called Janet from Broadway in Walsall. She rescued me today at New Street Station when my son was sick and our train got cancelled. We shared a taxi to Walsall, then she drove me & H to his supported accommodation. Wonderful ❤️
