Absolute tour de force yesterday from Nathan Pemberton during his dissertation talk. Excellent technical content about the future of disaggregation in datacenters alongside sage advice on how to survive grad school. Lookout for Nathan in a datacenter near you soon!

I've always been a bit confused why the standard iterator concepts don't work for reference types. Is there a good reason for this that I'm missing?

The Thinking Machines CM-5 (Connection Machine, 1993) was the first of its kind massively parallel supercomputer systems. The industrial design is featured in Jurassic Park. Now that I think about it, was all of the Jurassic Park tech actually real? 🧬

cppreference.org is causing our CI to fail at work. 🤯 Linter checks that all links in the documentation are live, and cppreference.org keeps timing out as it's a bit slow today.

Great talk by Anaconda Jim Kitchen and NVIDIA Erik Welch (@[email protected]) on python-graphblas: sparse linear algebra for graphs. âš¡ It speeds up NetworkX by 100 to 10000 times. 🔗Check out the project repo: github.com/python-graphbl… SciPyConf #SciPy2023 NetworkX

I had a bunch of fun attending CppCon last September. There I had the opportunity to present on some of the research we're doing on C++ distributed data structures at Intel Labs.

Just got the most pleasingly poetic C++ compiler error. "template template argument has different template parameters than its corresponding template template parameter"

Whooo!! A nice linear algebra interface is coming to standard C++! I particularly enjoyed the first half of this talk, which covers the early development and history of supercomputers and how that hardware affected what libraries were built and how.

New CppCon lightning talk is out on a little side project of mine: "Let's Fix Sparse Linear Algebra with C++. It'll be fun and easy!" youtube.com/watch?v=vhpj-p…
