it's also incredibly important to note the late registration surge here which is not yet taken into account by the registration numbers — looking at the original chart, i would imagine the vast majority of these were voters 18-24

They will conduct the full ranked-choice tabulation tomorrow. They will conduct another full tally again a week later including any additional cured ballots that come in. The subsequent tabulations will only change slightly since there won't be huge numbers of ballots added.

Fun fact from today's release of unofficial RCV results in the NYC primaries: in every single race, the candidate leading in round 1 ended up winning the final round (including Council District 4, where Virginia Maloney led by 1.2% in round 1, with only 26.8% of the vote)

Penn says Mamdani “is not at his center fundamentally American in his thinking and in his values” and advises portraying him as having a “limited” connection “to basic American values and culture.” Oh wait, that’s Penn talking about Barack Obama in 2008. politico.com/story/2008/08/…

Bad showing for candidates opting out of public financing. Lewinsohn lost. Rachel Storch lost in CD-04. Andy King got crushed in CD-12. Marty Dolan lost public advocate. Angela Aquino didn't make the PA ballot. Only winners were incumbent CMs Menin and Stevens.

Mayor Eric Adams is refusing to shake scandal-scarred cronies who plagued his first administration — while telling skittish backers that they have been taken off his re-election campaign, The Post has learned. nypost.com/2025/07/03/us-…

After Chair Richard Buery opens by noting “this is an *independent* commission” (all appointed by Adams and staffed by City Hall) Brad Lander is the first to testify AGAINST open primaries, saying it looks like “sour losers” want to change the outcome of the mayoral primary.

I got this poll today -- a LOT of questions about the bottle bill (seemingly message testing), just a small number of Qs on Bowser & Mendelson approval and the RFK deal

BOMBSHELL suits from former top brass says Mayor Adams' NYPD sold promotions, stole overtime, abused bodycams and promoted unqualified cops into sensitive positions. Those who raised concerns, like former top det. James Essig, were told to take huge demotions - or resign.
